Dr. Mariah Taller serves as Instructor of Percussion at Minot State University's Department of Fine and Performing Arts, where she teaches percussion lessons, percussion ensemble, and percussion methods.
Dr. Taller earned her Doctor of Musical Arts from Texas Tech University, where she studied primarily with Lisa Rogers. Her previous teachers include Michael Mixtacki, Brad Meyer, Ming-Hui Kuo, and Bonnie Whiting. She also holds a Master of Music from Stephen F. Austin State University and a Bachelor of Music from DePauw University.
Her research interests focus on four-mallet pedagogy and women in percussion. Dr. Taller has presented research at multiple conferences including the Stephen F. Austin State University Graduate Research Conference and the National Conference on Percussion Pedagogy.

She serves as principal percussionist for the Minot Symphony Orchestra and Vice President of the Percussive Arts Society, North Dakota Chapter. Her performance career includes engagements with the DePauw University Symphony Orchestra, Stephen F. Austin State University Wind Ensemble, Texas Tech University Wind Ensemble, Texas Tech University Symphony Orchestra, Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, and Texas Tech University Steel Band, "Apocalypso Now." She has performed at prestigious events such as the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, Indianapolis Prize Gala, College Band Directors National Association Conference, and Texas Music Educators Association Conference, with international tours across Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Spain, and Mexico.
