معرفی
Mariagrazia Grilli is a Full Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Eastern Piedmont Amedeo Avogadro. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative diseases, neurogenesis, astrocyte dysfunction, and neural stem cells. Key areas include Alzheimer’s disease, Down syndrome, and the role of cellular signaling pathways in neuroplasticity.
Her work spans molecular mechanisms underlying neuronal and astrocyte interactions, exploring therapeutic targets such as calcineurin B1 deletion and bioactive compounds like gamma-oryzanol. She leads projects like GENESIS and RE-Plast, targeting Alzheimer’s-associated protein dyshomeostasis and neuroplasticity restoration. Grilli’s studies also investigate the effects of β2 adrenergic agonists and high-fat diets on neurogenesis and synaptic plasticity.
Her projects include collaborations on astrocyte-neural progenitor crosstalk, mitochondrial dynamics, and novel mGluR ligands for neuroprotection. With over 130 publications and active grants, her research bridges basic neuroscience with translational medicine.
