Irma Dianzani

Irma Dianzani is a Full Professor at the University of Eastern Piedmont, holding appointments across multiple campuses in Novara and Alessandria. Her primary affiliation is with the Department of Translational Medicine within the School of Medicine, with additional teaching responsibilities in the Department of Science and Technological Innovation and Department of Health Sciences.

Her research focuses on the molecular basis of inherited diseases, including phenylketonuria, dihydropteridine reductase deficiency, Diamond-Blackfan anemia, and genetic risk factors for asbestos-related pleural mesothelioma. With 138 international publications, her work bridges clinical pathology with molecular diagnostics.

Dianzani has secured significant research funding from PRIN, CARIPLO, AIRC, TELETHON, DBAF, and Gruppo di Sostegno DBA Italia. She participates in international consortia including the ERARE project EURODBA and previously contributed to the European ENERCA initiative.

Her teaching portfolio spans over a decade (2012-2025), covering core medical subjects including General Pathology, Pathophysiology, Immunobiology, and History of Medicine. Current courses for 2025/2026 include Immunology and Fundamentals of Pathology at both Novara and Alessandria campuses.
