Maria de Fátima Ribeiro

Maria de Fátima Ribeiro is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Universidade Católica Portuguesa, where she has been affiliated since 1988. She earned her Master’s in Business Legal Sciences from the University of Coimbra (1998) and her PhD in Legal Sciences from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (2009). Her research focuses on Commercial Law, Cooperative Law, and Legal Sciences, with over 118 research outputs.

Her recent publications examine topics such as corporate veil piercing, cooperative insolvency, and family business succession. She is involved in the CEID-CRCFL project (2020–2025), addressing legal frameworks for courts, legislation, and artificial intelligence. Notable contributions include analyses of creditor protection and international tax justice for multinational corporations.

Maria de Fátima Ribeiro serves as a supervisor and examiner in academic activities and participates in conferences on legal reforms. Her work bridges commercial legal theory with practical applications in Portuguese and international contexts.
