Maria Wolmesjö is a Professor of Social Work at the University of Borås, affiliated with the Faculty of Caring Science, Work Life and Social Welfare and the Department of Work Life and Social Welfare. Her research focuses on value-based leadership in social care, particularly addressing ethical dilemmas faced by frontline managers in elderly and disability care. She has led national courses on ethical leadership since 2013 and joined the University of Borås full-time in 2016, previously working at Linköping University.

Recent Work:
Her 2023 study in the International Journal of Emergency Services examines collaborative protocols for missing persons with dementia, emphasizing coordinated responses and preparedness.
