Maria Bennich is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the University of Borås, specifically within the Academy of Care, Working Life and Welfare's Department of Working Life and Welfare. She previously held senior lecturer positions in social work at Örebro University (2016–2024) and Jönköping University (2013–2016).
Research Focus: Her work addresses the management and organization of social services/elderly care, self-determination in social interventions, employee working conditions, governance principles in social work, and demographic challenges. Current research explores tensions between societal demands and organizational constraints.
Projects: Participating researcher in the INSURE project at University of Borås, focusing on competence development for care staff in elderly care, aligned with her dissertation work.
Supervision: Supervises external doctoral students at Örebro University.
