Maria Sitzler-Sawicki is an Adjunct Professor in the German Department at George Washington University since Fall 2018. She previously served as an instructor at the University of Maryland, teaching intermediate German undergraduate courses, and earned her B.A. in German Studies from the University of Mary Washington and M.A. in German Language and Literature from the University of Maryland.

Languages and Background: Fluent in German, Italian, Arbëreshë (Albanian-derived), and English (fourth language), she moved from Germany to the U.S. in 2010 and emphasizes cross-cultural engagement through travel and research.
