معرفی
Maria Perander is a Professor at the Department of Medical Biology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, affiliated with the RNA and Molecular Pathology (RAMP) research group. Her research focuses on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), particularly their roles in breast cancer development, therapy resistance, and cellular stress responses.
Her work includes two key projects: (1) identifying lncRNAs regulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer, and (2) studying the function of NEAT1 lncRNA and paraspeckles in stress responses. She uses RNA sequencing and experimental assays to investigate EMT-associated lncRNAs and their dysregulation in tumors. NEAT1’s role in heat shock responses and autophagy is a central theme, linking stress adaptation to cancer therapy resistance.
Recent publications highlight her contributions to understanding EMT subtypes, NEAT1 isoform dynamics, and the interplay between inflammation and tumor progression. She collaborates extensively with groups like the RAMP team and the Breast Cancer-associated NEAT1 project. No awards are explicitly listed, but her prolific publication record underscores her research impact. Office: MH øst L9.251, Tromsø.
