Maria Harder is a Senior Lecturer at Mälardalen University's School of Health, Care and Social Welfare, within the Division of Caring Sciences and Health Care Pedagogics. She leads the interdisciplinary ChiP research group (children's health rights, protection, promotion, and participation) alongside Lena Almqvist, comprising 20 members focused on children, youth, and family health/rights issues. Currently, she holds a project position at Region Västmanland as a care developer, managing projects like Family-focused home visits and caries prevention initiatives for 3-year-olds. She serves as a scientific member of the Ethics Review Authority in Uppsala and has extensive experience in education program development, including specialist nursing education for public health nurses.
Her research interests center on child health visits participation, parental support, and continuity in pediatric care chains. She supervises three doctoral students (one as main supervisor) and previously served as program manager for specialist nursing education. Promoted to associate professor in 2018, her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and policy implementation in healthcare systems.
