Lena Wiklund Gustin

Lena Wiklund Gustin is a Professor at Mälardalen University (MDU) within the School of Health, Care and Social Welfare, specializing in Caring Sciences and Health Care Pedagogics. She also holds a professorship at UiT/Norwegian Arctic University. Her research focuses on mental health, recovery, and self-care, rooted in her background as a specialist nurse, licensed cognitive psychotherapist, and care developer in psychiatric care.

She co-leads the Research Group Care, Recovery and Health with Associate Professor Lena-Karin Gustafsson. Together, they developed the Psykisk helseportalen (Mental Health Portal), an open online resource for nursing psychology and recovery.

Her teaching spans advanced and PhD-level education, covering mental health theory, scientific methodology, and qualitative research. She emphasizes bridging clinical practice and academic research to address societal mental health challenges.
