Maria Granados is a Reader in Social Innovation at the University of Westminster's Westminster Business School, with expertise in social entrepreneurship and barefoot economics. She holds a PhD in Business Information Management from Westminster and engineering degrees from Colombian universities.
Research focuses on marginalized entrepreneurs, including projects on:
- Waste pickers in Colombia's informal economy
- Gender empowerment in UK social enterprises
- Refugee integration through data-driven health models
- SME sustainability transitions
She has secured funding from the British Academy, Global Challenges Research Fund, and Research England. Recent certifications include SDG Impact Standards and Social Value/SROI practitioner training.
Teaching includes Strategic Innovation in the digital world and Designing Value in the MBA program. She mentors PhD students researching knowledge spillovers, digital ventures, and educational models.
