Maria-Eleni Dounavi

Maria-Eleni Dounavi is an Alzheimer's Society Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge, where she leads the CHARISMA study and contributes to the PREVENT-Dementia programme. Her research centres on multi-modal MR brain imaging and cutting-edge image-processing techniques to elucidate early, pre-symptomatic vascular and perfusion changes in Alzheimer’s disease.

Her scientific focus lies at the intersection of neuroimaging, neurodegeneration, and vascular biology, aiming to identify biomarkers that precede clinical onset of dementia.
