Maria Chalia is a Clinical Research Fellow in Neonatal Medicine and MD Student at the University of Cambridge's Department of Paediatrics, based at The Rosie Hospital in Cambridge.

- Medical Degree from the University of Patras, Greece (2004)
- MRCPCH qualification in the United Kingdom (2012)
- Ongoing MD in Neonatal Medicine at the University of Cambridge (2015-present)
Her research centers on neonatal neurological disorders, specifically investigating brain injury mechanisms and seizure patterns in newborns using advanced neuroimaging techniques including EEG and optical topography. This work aims to develop improved diagnostic protocols and therapeutic interventions for vulnerable neonatal patients.
