Maria C Rodriguez-Barradas

Maria C. Rodriguez-Barradas serves as Professor of Medicine in the Infectious Disease division at Baylor College of Medicine and Chief of the Infectious Diseases Section at Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center. Her education includes an MD from Central University of Venezuela (1983), infectious diseases residency at the same institution (1988), and HIV Medicine fellowship at Baylor (1992).

Research Focus:

• Leads COMpAAAS consortium studying HIV/AIDS, alcohol, aging and multisubstance use
• Directs SUPERNOVA surveillance on viral gastroenteritis and respiratory infections
• Runs REPRIEVE trial on vascular event prevention in HIV patients
• Investigates procalcitonin-guided antibiotic therapy for respiratory infections
