Mari Paz Miralles is a Division Chair at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, affiliated with the Division of Solar, Stellar, and Planetary Sciences. She holds a PhD in Astrophysics from the Complutense University of Madrid, Spain.
Her research focuses on solar and stellar physics, including solar/stellar winds, plasma dynamics and composition, magnetic reconnection and topology, solar wind origin and evolution, solar eruptive events, and solar activity cycles. She utilizes techniques such as remote-sensing (spectroscopy and imaging), in-situ measurements, photometry, and radio interferometry.
Dr. Miralles has led international observing campaigns with space- and ground-based observatories and has been actively involved in NASA missions, including Spartan 201/UVCS, SOHO/UVCS, and IRIS. She is currently spearheading solar observations with the Submillimeter Array (SMA).
- NASA Group Achievement Awards
