Margo E. Shipley serves as an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at The University of Tulsa College of Law, joining the faculty in 2025. A third-generation Tulsa native and proud alumna of the same institution, she graduated as class valedictorian and served as Notes and Comments editor of the Tulsa Law Review.
Her academic background includes:
- J.D., The University of Tulsa College of Law
- B.A., John Brown University (double major in Political Science and Spanish)
Professor Shipley's research focuses on legal writing pedagogy, litigation strategy, insurance law frameworks, and tort defense mechanisms. Her scholarship integrates practical litigation experience from Tulsa-based firms Newton, O’Connor, Turner and Ketchum and Hall Estill, where she handled complex commercial cases and tort defense matters.
