Margarita Jover is an Associate Professor at the University of Virginia School of Architecture and Co-Director of the Landscape + Engineering Program. She holds a Master of Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (1995) and co-founded aldayjover architecture & landscape in 1996. Her work focuses on socioecological urbanism, emphasizing climate adaptation, river rehabilitation, and public space design. Notable projects include the Zaragoza Waterpark (2008) and the Dhaka Public Spaces Plan (2018). Jover’s research integrates urban metabolism and thermodynamics, addressing planetary urbanization challenges through interdisciplinary strategies. She co-authored Ecologies of Prosperity (2019) and has served as a juror for the FAD Architecture Prize and Mies van der Rohe Prize. Her practice bridges academia and design, advocating for architecture that mitigates ecological and social crises.
