Margarida Sardo

Margarida Sardo is a Senior Research Fellow at the Science Communication Unit within the College of Arts, Technology and Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol). She specializes in science communication and public engagement, with a focus on citizen science and informal learning. Her work involves developing communication projects, teaching on the MSc in Science Communication, and supervising MSc students.

Her research interests emphasize citizen science, evaluation methodologies, and non-traditional venues for science communication. She has led large-scale project evaluations and developed monitoring tools for science communication initiatives across Europe.

Current projects include HOMEs (airborne microplastics in homes), ASPIRE (supergene processes in repository engineering), WeCount (urban mobility), and ClairCity (air pollution reduction). She also evaluates flagship programs like the Royal Institution's Christmas Lectures.
