Margaret Park Smith is a Professor and Department Chair of Art & Design at Asbury University. She holds an M.F.A. from the University of Minnesota (2004) and a B.A. from Wheaton College (1998). Her work focuses on ceramics, particularly exploring screen-printing techniques on clay and the role of ceramics in material culture. She co-founded Dovetail Practice in 2005, an artistic collaboration exhibited globally, including at the Orange County Museum of Art, Urban Outfitters, and the New Museum of Contemporary Art (NYC).
Her teaching includes courses like Art + Creativity in Practice, Ceramics 1 & 2, and Sculpture. Recent professional activities include exhibitions at the American Museum of Ceramic Art (2024), NCECA Annual (2024), and the New Museum of Contemporary Art (2021–2024). She has been an Artist-in-Residence at institutions such as the Odyssey Center for Ceramic Arts (1999–2001) and Lillstreet Art Center (2004–2005).
