Dr. Margaret O'Hea is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Humanities at the University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics. She specializes in Roman archaeology, ancient glass studies, and the transition from Late Antiquity to early medieval periods. Her research focuses on Roman Gaul's villa systems, Roman-Byzantine material culture in Jordan (Pella excavations), and the socio-cultural shifts in the Levant.
She has co-directed field surveys in Jordan's Pella Hinterland and contributed to studies on ancient glass usage in the Near East. Dr. O'Hea also serves as Director of the University's Departmental Museum of Classical Archaeology. She is actively involved in supervising Masters and PhD students, emphasizing archaeological field methods and historical material analysis.
