Dr. Margaret Lehman Blake is a Professor and Department Chair in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Houston. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.S. from Arizona State University, and a B.S. from Colorado State University.
Her research focuses on cognitive-communication disorders associated with right hemisphere brain damage (RHD), particularly apragmatism and Theory of Mind deficits. She leads the NIH-funded grant Recovery of Language and Theory of Mind after Stroke (2022–2027) as co-PI. Her work also addresses clinical practices for adults with RHD and the development of interdisciplinary resources like the International Right Hemisphere Collaborative.

Dr. Blake’s professional activities include co-chairing the International Cognitive-Communication Disorders Conference (2023–2024) and advancing clinical guidelines for RHD rehabilitation. Her research integrates clinical practice with neuroimaging and behavioral studies to improve outcomes for individuals with neurological communication disorders.
