معرفی
Margaret H Baron is a Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms governing hematopoietic stem/progenitor cell fate and erythropoiesis using mouse and human models. She leads a lab developing high-throughput screens for erythroid regulators and employs techniques like CRISPR, RNAseq, and ChIP.
Education: AB Summa cum laude from Harvard University, PhD from MIT, MD from Harvard Medical School, residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, and postdoc at Harvard University.
Research interests include embryonic hematopoiesis, definitive hematopoietic progenitor development, and ex vivo red blood cell production. Her lab explores ligand-activated transcription pathways and enucleation processes critical for erythrocyte maturation.
Awards include the 2001 Irene & Arthur M. Fishberg Professorship, 2000 ASCI election, and 1989 Basil O'Connor Scholar Award. She advises on MD-PhD programs and contributed to training transgenic mouse models.
Labs/Teams: Margaret Baron Laboratory (Annenberg 24-68) focuses on translational hematology research with 30+ staff/postdocs. Active collaborations in computational biology and genetic engineering.
