Margaret Guinn Batten is an Associate Professor of English and Director of Honors in English at Washington University in St. Louis. She holds a PhD from Duke University. Her research focuses on Irish literature, Romanticism, and gender studies, with notable works including The Orphaned Imagination (1998) and contributions to The Cambridge History of Irish Literature. She has received multiple Teaching Awards for graduate mentorship (2000–2003, 2008).
