Margaret Fisher is a Distinguished Practitioner in Residence at Seattle University School of Law with over 45 years of full-time experience in public legal education. She pioneered the Street Law program at Georgetown University Law Center and has been a key figure at Seattle University since 1982. She served as a Senior Fulbright Scholar in Southern Africa and has developed innovative programs like the Youth Traffic Court in Seattle and youth courts in Washington and Finland.

Her research focuses on civic education, juvenile justice, and judicial outreach. She authored national curricula including Street Law materials and the ABA's Youth Court Training Package. She leads initiatives such as the Judicial Institute for Teachers, partnering with the U.S. District Court, and directs the iCivicsWA program.
Major awards include the Sandra Day O'Connor Award (2013) and the Spirit of the Community Award (2016). She chairs the International Journal for Public Legal Education editorial board and collaborates with institutions like the Seattle Municipal Court and Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s initiatives.
