Margaret F. Gibson is an Associate Professor at Renison University College, University of Waterloo, with joint appointments in Social Development Studies and Social Work. Her research bridges 2SLGBTQ+ studies, critical disability studies, neurodiversity, and feminist research methodologies. She leads community-engaged projects like Neurodiversity Matters and Learning Access, focusing on:
- Autistic people's perspectives on "eloping"
- Racialized experiences of neurodiversity claims
- Queer and disabled parenting during the pandemic
- ADHD-related academic accommodations for female students
Her work challenges dominant medicalized narratives, advocating for systems that center lived experience.
