Margaret Dawe is an Associate Professor and Director of Creative Writing at Wichita State University's Fairmount College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of English. She holds a BA in Literature from the University of Virginia, an MS in Journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism, and an MFA in Creative Writing from Brooklyn College. Her work bridges literary journalism and fiction, earning acclaim for her novel *Nissequott* and nonfiction storytelling like 'Maze' in the *Antioch Review*.
Her research interests focus on creative writing methodologies, narrative techniques in journalism, and the intersection of fiction/nonfiction. Recent publications include nonfiction articles in *The East Hampton Star*, *Newsday*, and *Sonora Review*. She is completing her second novel, *Missing Woman*, and developing a third book set in Wichita.
Awardees include New York State Press Association honors for reporting and a *New York Times* nod for *Nissequott*. Her career spans academic roles and award-winning journalism, emphasizing community storytelling and literary innovation.
