Margaret Bryant

Dr. Margaret Bryant is Associate Professor and Chair of Landscape Architecture at SUNY College of Environmental Science & Forestry. She holds a PhD in Regional Planning from University of Massachusetts Amherst and researches land use planning, urban ecological systems, and community engagement.

Her work focuses on ecologically sensitive land planning at rural-urban interfaces with projects examining greenways, watershed planning, and community revitalization. Recent applied research includes historic landscape documentation for the National Park Service and revitalization plans for Mississippi communities.

Dr. Bryant teaches ecological applications in planning, community mapping, and design studios emphasizing site analysis. She mentors graduate students working on neighborhood-scale planning, environmental health determinants, and sustainable community design.
