C. Thomas Hogge

C. Thomas Hogge is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Landscape Architecture at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. His research explores entanglements between expanding landscape architecture practices, feral landscapes, and post-industrial environments. He teaches foundation/advanced design studios, construction technologies, ecological planting design, and material culture seminars focused on extraction and entropy.

Hogge promotes embodied fieldwork and fabrication as critical analytical tools, with his students receiving awards from CELA and ASLA. He has lectured internationally on design education, landscape stewardship, and architectural prefabrication. As founder of Other Lands Studio (OTH), his collaborative work has been recognized in urban design competitions, and his professional practice has earned national/international awards for ecological planning in public parks, botanic gardens, campuses, and agricultural landscapes.
