Margaret Andrews is an Assistant Professor of Classics at Harvard University's Department of Classics. Her research focuses on Mediterranean archaeology, particularly Roman urbanism, archaeological theory and methods, urban social geography, and the longue durée analysis of cities like ancient Rome. She specializes in studying residential spaces, early Christianity, and gender dynamics in antiquity.
Her work integrates fieldwork with interdisciplinary approaches, as seen in projects like the Falerii Novi Project and studies of Villa Magna. She has published widely on Roman urban transformation, material reuse in medieval construction, and the social contexts of domestic and public spaces in the ancient world.
Andrews is affiliated with Harvard's Department of Classics, located at Boylston Hall, and maintains an active research agenda with a focus on historical GIS mapping, archaeological survey techniques, and the interplay between urban form and social structures in antiquity.
