Maren Hahnen

Maren Hahnen is a Researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin's School of Business and Economics, where she serves as a Research Associate and Teaching Assistant in the Microeconomics Research Group since April 2020 while completing her PhD through the Berlin School of Economics (BSoE) program.

She earned her M.Sc. in Economics (2013-2016) and B.Sc. in Economics (2010-2013) at Humboldt University, including a study period at Universidad de Salamanca in Spain (2011-2012) funded by an Erasmus Scholarship. Her academic foundation is further strengthened by professional experience at Oxera Consulting as an Economic Analyst (2017-2018) focusing on competition economics and econometric modeling.

Maren's research centers on (applied) microeconomic theory with specialized expertise in industrial organization, mechanism design, and market design. She has developed a distinctive focus on behavioral economics applications within digital platform economics, examining how platform structures influence market outcomes and consumer behavior. Her work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in the rapidly evolving digital economy.

As an educator, Maren has supervised Master's and Bachelor's theses and taught exercise classes across multiple microeconomics courses. Her research is supported by affiliations with CRC TRR 190 Rationality & Competition, BCCP Berlin Center for Consumer Policies, and the Berlin Behavioral Economics Group.
