Marek Lechniak is a Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. He holds a PhD (1997) and habilitation (2012) in philosophy, specializing in philosophical logic, epistemic/doxastic logic, and legal logic. He has served as Director of the Institute of Philosophy (2012–2019) and Dean since 2020. His research focuses on belief dynamics, formal ontology, and the history of logic, particularly contributions by figures like Jerzy Łoś and Ajdukiewicz. He teaches logic courses across multiple disciplines, including law, and has authored books like Elementy logiki dla prawników. His work bridges formal logic with interdisciplinary applications in philosophy, theology, and cognitive science.
Education: Master’s (1987), PhD (1997) from Catholic University of Lublin. Key publications include analyses of epistemic logic origins, belief revision theory, and the role of logic in humanities. He actively reviews for journals like Studia Philosophiae Christianae and organizes conferences on logic in theology.
