Prof. Marek Górski is a Professor of Law at the University of Szczecin's Faculty of Law and Administration, specializing in environmental law, administrative law, and constitutional law. He previously served as Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation (2012-2020) and holds academic qualifications including a habilitation (1993) and professorship (2006). His research focuses on legal and administrative frameworks for environmental protection, with over 300 scholarly works including monographs, commentaries, and articles. Key contributions include shaping Poland’s environmental legislation, such as the Environmental Protection Law Act and waste management regulations.
Education: PhD in Law (University of Lodz, 1981), Habilitation in Legal Sciences (1993). Teaching: Courses on environmental law, organization of environmental protection, and legal frameworks. Professional roles include advising the Polish Ministry of Environment, membership in the State Council for Nature Conservation, and leading environmental impact assessment commissions.
Research emphasizes waste management, climate law, and regulatory compliance. Recent publications address integrated permits, environmental crimes, and by-product management. He actively participates in international conferences and co-authored major textbooks on environmental law.
Advocacy: Supervised over a dozen doctoral dissertations and reviewed academic works across Poland, Germany, and Slovakia. Engaged in legal reforms through parliamentary committees and expert panels. Currently contributes to the Centre for Legal Analysis at the University of Szczecin.
