Marek Chowaniec

Marek Chowaniec serves as Professor at the Department of Stage Design within the Faculty of Stage Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he graduated in 1993 under Professor Andrzej Sadowski.

Professor Chowaniec's research and professional practice centers on Scenography and Stage Design, with significant contributions across theatrical genres. His portfolio spans collaborations with major Polish institutions including Ateneum Theatre, Contemporary Theatre in Warsaw, Wybrzeże Theatre in Gdańsk, and Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn. He pioneered stereoscopic stage design for productions like "Romeo and Juliet 3D" and created sets for Television Theatre, Roma Theatre musicals ("Miss Saigon", "Grease"), and Krakow Opera productions including Penderecki's "The Black Mask". His work extends to large-scale events such as the 2010 Shanghai EXPO Polish Day opening performance "Let's Dance Chopin".
