Jacek Martusewicz

Prof. Jacek Martusewicz is a Professor of Fine Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, affiliated with the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art. He holds roles such as Deputy Dean (2005–2008) and former Head of the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Sculptures and Elements of Architecture (2008–2011), and currently runs the Studio of Conservation and Restoration of Ceramics. His expertise focuses on stone and ceramic conservation, particularly in architectural contexts, including historic wall coverings, garden ceramics, and archaeological artifacts.

His research includes collaborations with institutions like the Museum of King Jan III's Palace at Wilanów and the University of Warsaw's Center for Pre-Columbian Research, conducting projects in Peru (e.g., Machu Picchu and the Monastery of Santo Domingo). He has also contributed to conservation efforts at the Polish Parliament, reconstructing sculptural reliefs by Józef Gosławski. His work has been recognized through awards in Academy competitions and those of the Association of Monument Conservators.
