معرفی
Professor Marcus Lee is a faculty member at the University of Dundee's Department of Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery. His research focuses on malaria parasite molecular genetics, antimalarial drug discovery, and drug resistance mechanisms. He leads projects funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and collaborates with institutions like the Wellcome Sanger Institute.
Key research interests include Plasmodium falciparum biology, drug resistance pathways, and development of novel antimalarial agents targeting essential parasite proteins. Lee's work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to global health and infectious disease control.
He oversees five active research projects (2023–2030), including CRISPR-based target validation platforms and barcoded resistance libraries for drug prioritization. Recent publications (2024–2025) highlight discoveries in enzyme inhibitors, dual-action antiparasitics, and drug resistance mechanisms.
Lee actively participates in academic collaborations, hosts visiting researchers, and presents at conferences such as Discovery Days 2024. His research integrates molecular parasitology, medicinal chemistry, and pharmacology to address malaria treatment challenges.
