معرفی
Prof Kevin Saliba is a Professor in the Division of Biomedical Science & Biochemistry at the Australian National University. His research focuses on drug discovery targeting Plasmodium falciparum and other apicomplexan parasites, with emphasis on coenzyme A biosynthesis pathways and antimalarial agent development.
Education: BSc (Chemistry), Honours (Pharmacology), PhD (Pharmacology).
Research interests include antimalarial drug mechanisms, enzyme inhibition strategies, and metabolic pathways critical to parasite survival. Recent work emphasizes pantothenate analogues, pyridine carboxamides, and thiamine analogs as potential therapeutic agents.
Active projects (2023-2029) include development of novel antimalarials targeting coenzyme A pathways and sensor technologies for malaria diagnosis via breath analysis. Collaborations span medicinal chemistry, structural biology, and parasitology.
