Marcus Kilian is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Asbury University, where he teaches and conducts research. He concurrently serves as an Adjunct Professor at Asbury Theological Seminary and Richmont Graduate University. His professional life integrates clinical psychology practice with theological education, co-owning a part-time Christian counseling practice.
Dr. Kilian holds a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Regent University, an MDiv in Pastoral Counseling and Christian Formation from Pentecostal Theological Seminary, a CAGS in Organizational Leadership from Regent University, and an MTh in Applied Theological Ethics from the University of South Africa. His expertise spans clinical psychology, psychology of religion, leadership formation, and trauma counseling.
His research focuses on integrating spirituality and mental health, particularly in treating compulsive behaviors, trauma therapy, and leadership development. Recent work includes studies on Thomas Merton’s concepts applied to sex addiction treatment and resilience among refugee populations. He frequently presents at conferences on topics like trauma counseling in conflict zones and spiritual formation in clinical practice.
