Dr. Marcus Anthony Hunter is a Professor and Scott Waugh Endowed Chair in the Division of the Social Sciences at UCLA, holding dual appointments in Sociology and African American Studies. He pioneered the #BlackLivesMatter movement and authored/co-authored five books including Radical Reparations (2024). As the inaugural Chair of UCLA’s African American Studies Department and former President of the Association of Black Sociologists, he has been a leader in advancing racial equity.
