Darnell Hunt

Darnell Hunt is a Professor and Executive Vice Chancellor-Provost at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He serves as Director of the Ralph J. Bunche Center for African American Studies, leading research projects on African American experiences and diversity in Hollywood. Hunt holds a Ph.D. from UCLA in Sociology.

His research focuses on race, media, and cultural studies, with notable work analyzing media representation in urban contexts like Los Angeles. He has authored and edited influential books examining racial narratives in media, including studies on the O.J. Simpson trial and representations of Blackness in television.
