Marco Sgarbi is a Full Professor of History of Philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage, Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He serves as President of the University Quality Assurance Office (PQA), overseeing academic standards. His research focuses on Renaissance and early modern philosophical texts, particularly vernacular Aristotelianism and intellectual history. Sgarbi leads the ERC-funded project 'Aristotle in the Italian Vernacular' (2014-2020), exploring the role of vernacular languages in transmitting philosophy. He is editor of Philosophical Readings and Encyclopedia of Renaissance Philosophy, and has advised numerous international research initiatives including Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions.
