Matteo Cosci

Matteo Cosci is an Associate Professor at the Department of Philosophy and Cultural Heritage of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. His research focuses on History of Philosophy, Ancient Philosophy, and the Scientific Revolution, particularly Aristotle and Galileo Galilei.

• Education: MA in History of Philosophy (King's College London, with merit), PhD in Philosophy (University of Padua, with distinctions), and BA/MA in Philosophy (University of Padua, cum laude).
• Positions: National Scientific Qualification (2020) as Associate Professor in History of Philosophy, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellow (2021–2023), and postdoctoral researcher at Ca' Foscari (2016–2019) and University of Padua (2019–2020).

His research explores the intersection of Aristotelian Cosmology and 17th-century scientific developments, with a focus on pseudonymous writings, cometary theories, and supernova observations. Recent publications analyze Galileo's Sidereus Nuncius, Kepler's Supernova, and Renaissance vernacular philosophy.
