Marco Raugei

Dr. Marco Raugei is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Research Fellow in Mechanical Engineering at Oxford Brookes University, within the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics. His work bridges academic research and practical sustainability applications in energy systems and transport.

His research interests focus on:

• Emergy Analysis (EMA)
• Material Flow Accounting (MFA)
• Renewable energy and photovoltaics
• Energy transition scenarios
• Sustainable transport systems

His recent publications reflect a strong trend toward sustainability assessment of energy systems, particularly electric vehicles, photovoltaics, battery recycling, and circular economy strategies in construction and urban development. He frequently employs LCA and net energy methodologies to evaluate environmental impacts and energy efficiency across global contexts.

Dr. Raugei has supervised multiple doctoral students and contributed to international research projects such as ECORES-WIND, ReLIB, WISE PV, and MARS-EV. He has held visiting roles at Columbia University and Yale, and serves on scientific advisory boards and editorial boards for journals including Ecological Indicators, Energies, and Energy Technology.

His professional engagement includes roles with the International Energy Agency (PVPS Task 12), the biennial Advances in Energy Studies workshop, and editorial contributions to special issues on energy systems and life cycle assessment.
