Dr Marco Palombo is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Microstructure Imaging at Cardiff University, jointly appointed between the School of Psychology and the School of Computer Science and Informatics. He serves as Head of Microstructure Imaging at CUBRIC (Cardiff University Brain Research Imaging Centre) and co-leads the MicroTeam group and the Medical Image Computing group.
He holds a B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Physics, with research interests spanning biophysical modeling, machine learning, computational modeling, medical imaging, and data analysis.

- Microstructure imaging of brain tissue
- Non-invasive histology using diffusion MRI
- Machine learning for medical imaging
- Cancer imaging (brain, prostate, endometrial, liver)
- Neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration
