Marco Ottaviani is a Full Professor in the Department of Economics at Università Bocconi. He is affiliated with the Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER) and serves as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). His research focuses on game theory, economic policy, and market design, with notable contributions to clinical trial integrity analysis and historical economic theory. He teaches advanced courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, emphasizing managerial and policy applications.
Research highlights include an op-ed on clinical trial transparency (VoxEU, 2020) and a rediscovery of Émile Borel’s 1938 work on parimutuel betting, co-authored with Peter Norman Sørensen. His work bridges theoretical economics with practical policy implications, particularly in healthcare and regulatory frameworks.
