Basile Grassi is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Bocconi University (Italy). He is affiliated as a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR) and as an Affiliate at the Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research (IGIER). Previous roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and Visiting Assistant Professor at Sciences-Po Paris and the European University Institute.
His research spans macroeconomics, applied economics, and economic policy, focusing on

- Economic impacts of pandemics and social distancing
- Policy responses to sectoral interdependencies
- European Union economic integration
