Marco Moriggi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities at the University of Catania, where he holds a position in Semitics - Ethiopian Languages and Literatures. He is particularly interested in digital approaches to Semitic epigraphy and the application of computational tools in philological research.
Marco Moriggi has supervised numerous student theses on subjects such as the historical geography of Nineveh, Gurage dialects, Semitic magic, and digital philology. He has also mentored PhD graduates, including Dr. Giuseppe Petrantoni and Dr. Mara Nicosia. His international research collaborations include fellowships at Birkbeck (University of London) and the University of Exeter, as well as participation in the Virtual Magic Bowl Archive project.
