معرفی
Marco Di Antonio is a Lecturer at Imperial College London's Department of Chemistry and leads a satellite group at The Francis Crick Institute. He holds a BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship and is affiliated with multiple research centers, including the CDT in Chemical Biology and the CRUK Convergence Science Centre. His research focuses on the interplay between organic chemistry and cell biology, particularly designing small-molecule probes to study DNA packaging and chromatin dynamics in ageing and cancer.
Education:
- M.Sc. Organic Chemistry, University of Pavia (2007)
- Ph.D. Molecular Sciences, University of Padua (supervised by Prof. Manlio Palumbo and Prof. Mauro Freccero)
Research Interests: Investigating G-quadruplex DNA/RNA structures in health and disease, epigenetic changes linked to ageing, and developing chemical tools for live-cell imaging and drug discovery. Key areas include chromatin dynamics, cancer therapeutics, and neurodegenerative disorders.
Awards:
- BBSRC David Phillips Fellowship (2017)
Lab Members: Supervises a team of postdocs and PhD students (e.g., Silvia Galli, Gemma Flint, Thomas Maher) working on projects like G-quadruplex interactome mapping, RNA condensates in ALS/FTD, and PARP inhibitor resistance mechanisms. The group also collaborates with Prof. Vilar, Prof. Tate, and Prof. Raffaella Nativio.
Labs/Teams: The Di Antonio Group at Imperial and the Francis Crick Institute. Active in the Institute of Chemical Biology and fabriCELL initiatives.
