Marco Corradi is a Full Professor in Civil Engineering at the University of Huddersfield's Department of Engineering, School of Computing and Engineering. He holds a PhD in Seismic Reinforcement of Masonry from the University of Perugia (2002) and previously served as Head of Civil Engineering at Northumbria University (2013-2016) and managed the Structures Laboratory at Perugia University (2005-2013).
His interdisciplinary research bridges engineering and humanities, focusing on:
- Earthquake-resistant design of masonry/timber structures
- Advanced materials (titanium, aluminium, natural fibers)
- Historic building preservation techniques
- Sustainable construction materials and methods
- Long-term performance of composite materials
Editorial contributions include leadership roles at Construction and Building Materials (Elsevier) and editorial board positions in 6 additional journals. He chairs standardization committees (RILEM, British Standards) and leads PhD projects on titanium reinforcement and sustainable masonry.
