Liborio Cavaleri serves as Associate Professor of Structural Engineering at the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Materials Engineering within the Polytechnic School at the University of Palermo. He teaches specialized courses in Seismic Design and Building Construction Techniques, maintaining regular office hours on Thursdays from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at his personal office.
Professor Cavaleri graduated with a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Palermo in 1992 and earned his PhD in Structural Engineering six years later. He actively participates in the Interuniversity Center for Theoretical and Experimental Structural Dynamics and has contributed to over 35 research projects throughout his career.
His research expertise spans seismic vulnerability assessment, probabilistic structural modeling, dynamic identification techniques, innovative construction materials, masonry mechanics, reinforced concrete systems, and structural ductility. He maintains active international collaborations with universities in Malta, Athens, San Diego, and Belfast.
With more than 100 publications in international journals, Professor Cavaleri contributes significantly to academic literature and serves on the editorial board of The Open Construction and Building Technologies Journal, a SCOPUS-indexed publication.
