Marcin Górski

Dr. hab. Marcin Górski is a Professor and Head of the Department of European Constitutional Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Lodz. He serves as Plenipotentiary of the Rector of the University of Lodz for legal matters and works as a legal counsel in the Office of the Rector. His academic and professional career combines rigorous scholarly work with extensive practical legal experience.

Dr. Górski's educational background includes completing prosecutor's training (2002-2005), passing the prosecutor's exam with first-class results, practicing as an attorney (2006-2012), and working as a legal advisor since 2012. He obtained his postdoctoral degree (habilitation) in 2020 based on his monograph "Freedom of Artistic Expression: International and National Standards" (Wolters Kluwer, 2019).

His research focuses on EU constitutional law, human rights protection (particularly freedom of expression), comparative constitutional law, judicial dialogue, personal data protection, and asylum and migration law. Dr. Górski has authored or co-authored approximately 170 publications as of March 2021, including monographs, articles, opinions, comments, and textbooks. His recent scholarly work examines judicial dialogue in EU law implementation, artistic freedom in the digital age, and migration law challenges in post-pandemic Europe.

Dr. Górski actively participates in national and international scientific conferences focused on EU law and fundamental rights protection. His practical legal work includes serving as director of the Legal Department of the City of Lodz Office since 2012, running his own law firm, and handling pro bono cases before the European Court of Human Rights.

As an educator, he conducts lectures, seminars, and exercises in Polish and English on EU law, human rights protection, and personal data protection at various academic levels. He also provides specialized training for legal professionals including trainee attorneys, notaries, and public administration officials. His organizational duties include chairing the Disciplinary Committee for Students of the University of Lodz for the 2020-2024 term.
